As you know we live in one of the toughest situations and are conditioned to act, live, and behave differently. The government restricted medical practices to prevent the spreading of viruses. Hence many dental practices are closed and some remain open and accept only emergency patients.
WHAT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AS A BUSINESS OWNER?
Most people and business owners are looking at the current situation as a big problem, they get very disappointed and think it is the end of the world and in the best case just waiting for the government to ease the restrictions and see what is next.
Instead, you can look at it as an opportunity, probably asking how. People in this situation ( Coronavirus ) still have dental problems that need to be treated but their priorities have been changed.
They worry about family, children, and the elderly’s health more than anything else. As you know currently schools shut down or most of the parents decided to keep their kids at home, so they are very busy with kids with shopping and how to keep the children entertained and in their spare time check out their phone or tablet.
Remember people’s dental problems haven’t been solved yet, just delayed and still looking for the best option to treat them, basically gathering information. Unless the problem is an emergency and causing pain that cannot be handled, then look at which practice is open for a quick solution to get rid of the pain.
if your practice is closed then you will lose this opportunity and your competitors make the most of it. In this case, patients always remember who helped them to get out of the pain.
Why?
Because humans never forget an event or incident that his/her emotion attached to it and create a memorable time. Let me explain it with a simple example: if I ask you what you did have or what you did two weeks ago, it’s very hard to remember it. But I am sure you can remember your engagement or honeymoon very well with all details because of the emotion attached to it and never forget it.
Moreover, if a new dentist impresses the patient by providing better service and treatment and solving his/her dental problems then it is most likely a good reason for the patient to accept a new dentist as his/her family dentist for future treatments.
Here some practices lose opportunities and others that decided to remain open and serve patients will be winners and get new patients.
At the moment you are helping people and solving their emergency problems but in the future, you will be rewarded and most of those patients will come back for further treatments like dental implants, Invisalign, dental crowns, veneer, and … etc that are more profitable for dentists.
